This 3D wooden piece is a collaboration work with the talented Kate Vestlie (www.katevestlie.com). It is a combination of my piece "Paradise" and Kate's highly intricate woodwork. The piece appears to be floating in the air, and comes with a carefully selected matching frame.
The piece was an effort to create a modern take on the ancient Persian art form with the traditional illumination style, mimicking the concept of “paradise”, but displayed in a modern and unlike arrangement. The large stroke in the middle is the Arabic word for love “Hub”, which is what Bahá’u’lláh refers to in redefining the idea of “Paradise” in His Arabic Hidden Word, No. 6.:
"O SON OF BEING! Thy Paradise is My love; thy heavenly home, reunion with Me. Enter therein and tarry not. This is that which hath been destined for thee in Our kingdom above and Our exalted dominion."
– Bahá’u’lláh, The Hidden Words of Bahá’u’lláh, Arabic no. 6
